The Project

The need for a new Boat House has been identified for almost a decade. Limited resources and other priorities have taken precedence.

After September 11, 2001, the Key Foundation Inc. petitioned the Yankee Clipper Council, BSA to rename the Boat House after Andrew Curry Green. Although Andrew worked in a variety of areas in Camp, the seasons that he spent on Aquatics Staff was the most memorable.

When the Executive Board voted to rename the Boat House, it became the first building at Wah-Tut-Ca to be named after a person whose service at Camp was that of a youth staff member.

In 2003 the Key Foundation approached the Yankee Clipper Council with a proposal to lead an effort to rebuild the Andrew Curry Green Boathouse. An agreement was reached where the Foundation would develop the plans, raise the funds and assist in the management of the construction.

A design has been approved by the Yankee Clipper Council. The project from start to finish is estimated at $120,000.

The old boathouse was torn down in October 2007. It will be dedicated on August 2, 2008.
